[NEWS] KU Holds Its Third Innovation Forum on Data Utilization

On August 11, the University Innovation Support Project Center of Korea University (KU) hosted the third KU Innovation Forum at the SK Future Hall. Titled ¡°Data and Reform in Higher Education in the Post-coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Era,¡± it informed the audience of the need to utilize data analysis to bring about educational reforms in universities.

The first session of the forum handled the subject of online education in the post-COVID-19 era, outlining the status quo of KU online education and in-depth data analysis results. Then, the second session mainly covered the need to promote Data Hubs for university reforms. It was followed by the final session, which was a discussion period under the agenda of university reforms made possible by data utilization.

In the forum, Lee Jin-sook, who is a data scientist from the KU Data Hub, stated, ¡°While the COVID-19 outbreak can be a crisis, it can also be a precious chance to strengthen educational capabilities of universities by providing customized education solutions for each student.¡± Lee further emphasized that data analysis would be the key to discover the optimal solutions by tracking the students¡¯ tendency data on the digital server.
